An interactive team approach.
“The exercises are very clever. They seem to address a broad range of skills in a very specific way.” Rod Clausen May 06

We’ve created a simple series of team based exercises; each one trains a specific skill.

One of the first exercises is to describe to a French woman how to make a cup of tea. It’s very Zen-like simplicity throws up lots of anxieties and frustrations about people’s relation to writing.

Once participants identify these anxieties they experience a greater sense of confidence and clarity. After that, they’re ready for a task on structure.

Another element of the course that differs from traditional approaches to training is the extensive use of buddies. We put people in pairs not just for a session but for the duration of the course. They build a relationship with that buddy that will help them see their way through the assignments.

The buddy system can help beyond the course as well. Once someone establishes trust in another to criticize their work constructively, they have a valuable partner for the future.
